All Maple Shells

The thinner the shell, the better the transfer of vibration from the drum heads to the shell.

However, thinner shells usually lack strength.

With this in mind, Tama slimmed down each play rather than using fewer plies and cross laminated them into 6ply, 5mm thick shells (8ply, 7mm for the bass drum).

Die-Cast Hoops

Star-Cast Mounting System and Quick-Lock Tom Brackets

Now, with a more streamlined design, this mounting system allows you to position the toms closer together easier than ever before for even more setup options.

Furthermore, the Star-Cast Mounting System is now made from aluminium which makes them lighter in weight and provides truer vibration.

The Star-Cast Mounting System and Starclassic floor toms also feature new "Quick-Lock" tom brackets which further enhance their performance.

Thanks to these brackets, once you've position your toms, you won't have to attack or adjust separate memory locks to save your setting. Just slide the switch on the tom bracket and the bracket will separate into two parts. When you remove the drums for breakdown, the "memory lock" part of the bracket remains on the tom stand or floor tom leg, saving your positioning so the next time you set up will be quick and easy.

Furthermore, these brackets feature rubber lining which isolates the drums, reducing vibration transfer to enhance resonance.

Using the same powerful hinge mechanism found on the MTB30 mounting bracket, the Starclassic Maple drum kit's bass drum die-cast bracket holds the bass drum spur bracket incredibly secure.

The claw hooks used on these Tama Starclassic drums feature rubber spaces which help protect them from damage while eliminating rattle, even on looser tunings.

Vibration that occurs when you strike drums causes space to appear between the tension rods and hoops. As a result, the the tension rods will become loose over time.

Thanks to the Hold Tight washers found in this Starclassic drum kit, you won't have to worry about it! The rubber rings on Hold Tight washers absorb the impact of the vibration while keeping the tension rods in contact with the hoops, preventing loosening.
