The SPL PASSEQ Passive Mastering Equaliser, in its second generation, builds upon the success of its predecessor and introduces some exciting new features, while maintaining the outstanding sound quality and robust construction that SPL enthusiasts have grown to love.
The original SPL passive mastering equalizer was groundbreaking, being the first to offer independent boost and cut controls for high, mid, and low bands in a per-band format. With 36 boost and cut frequencies across 12 selectable frequencies, it provided mastering engineers with nearly three million unique curve options to work with.
In the second generation, the PASSEQ retains the same number of boost and cut frequencies but refines the individual selections for even more musical results, along with optimized Q values for each frequency range.
The PASSEQ's second generation incorporates modern design traits and refinements that cater to the demands of mastering engineers, ensuring an intuitive workflow and exceptional results.
New additions to the model include an Air band and a new mid-cut band at 200Hz. Additionally, the output controls have been upgraded to stepped potentiometers ranging from -10 to 10dB, allowing for easy recall between sessions.
Internally, the original capacitor arrays have been replaced with custom-designed caps, offering improved bandwidth and performance.
Like all of SPL's high-end products, the PASSEQ operates on SPL's proprietary 120V rail technology, providing unmatched headroom, an enhanced dynamic range, and near distortion-free audio reproduction.
SPL's 120V circuitry operates at approximately twice the voltage of regular discrete op-amps found in other audio equipment, resulting in exceptional technical and sonic performance.
The PASSEQ is a highly capable tool for demanding mastering tasks, adding a natural touch to any track it processes while reducing listening fatigue for professional users.
