The SPL Gemini is a purpose-built M/S mastering processor designed to unleash the full potential of your mid and side signals. Immerse yourself in a world where vocals, snare, bass, and other mid-signals seamlessly blend with spatial elements like guitars and cymbals.
Adjust the stereo mixing ratio on both channels with precision using the stereo width controls. And let's not forget the built-in elliptical filter, ready to slice and dice those low-frequency sideband ratios as desired.
Optimal configuration involves positioning the mid/side encoder in slot 3, followed by EQ in slot 4, and the decoder stage occupying slot 5. This allows for individual processing of the mid and side signals, merging them into a magnificent left/right stereo soundscape.
If you crave additional dynamic processing, go ahead and insert a compressor in slot 5, effortlessly shifting the decoder stage to slot 6. Endless possibilities await.
M/S coding isn't just a gateway to accessing individual elements within a mix—it's a powerful tool to manipulate the stereo panorama. Enter Gemini, armed with a plethora of potent features to help you achieve mastering perfection. The balance control deftly positions mid signals within the panoramic field, while the trim controls deftly fine-tune levels between mid and side signals.
While Gemini and Hermes processors can operate independently, combining them unlocks a realm of unimaginable possibilities. Pair Gemini's encoder and decoder stages with Hermes' inserts to meticulously specify the position of mid/side encoders and decoders within your processing chain.
