SPL understands that a reliable recording strip often serves as a shortcut to achieving an exceptional mix. The SPL Frontliner is designed to be an all-in-one channel strip, equipped with all the necessary components to enhance the quality of vocals or instruments and make them truly stand out.
The Frontliner is equipped with a pristine preamp, DeEsser, compressor limiter, and equalizer, all conveniently packed within a 2U, 19-inch rack space. In addition to working together to create an impressive tone assembly line, each processor in the chain can also be individually accessed through analogue inputs and outputs, allowing for the integration of external signals and the addition of unique characteristics to a mix.
The Frontliner boasts a reliable signal chain that incorporates a discrete semiconductor tube hybrid microphone preamplifier, combining the spatial warmth of tubes with the low-noise operation of semiconductors. Both stages of the preamplifier operate at 250V, providing ample headroom and ensuring flawless transients.
To ensure consistent and regulated voltage throughout, the Frontliner utilizes Burr-Brown op-amps, and the wiring adheres to SPL's central-star grounding scheme, effectively minimizing any potential noise in the signal chain.
In addition to a balanced microphone input, the Frontliner also accommodates line inputs, which are perfect for adding extra definition to stereo or virtual instruments. The preamp stage can also be utilized to enhance quieter signals, preparing them for further processing through the DeEsser or EQ during the mixing stage.
Lastly, the Frontliner includes a high-impedance TS jack input on the front of the strip, making it an excellent choice for tracking Hi-Z instruments such as guitars and bass.

Returns
If you and your item aren’t getting along, you have 14 days from when you receive the goods to contact our PMT experts either by phone or email to return your item.
*Please note, we cannot accept returns of:
- Special/Custom Orders - Any order that is custom or has been personalised.
- Products with Hygiene Seals - Microphones, any in-ear earphones, monitors, orchestral instruments with mouthpieces and any other items that touch your mouth, nose or inner ear if you have broken the hygienic seal on the packaging.
- Software & Media - Any software or media that has been opened or registered via physical or digital means.
