Difference Between GLX-D Advanced and Standard GLX-D Wireless Systems

Marking a significant improvement over the standard series, the GLX-D Advanced Digital Wireless systems include rack mount receiver systems, remote antennas and other accessories, making them extremely flexible for a multitude of applications.

They're also made to be compatible with Frequency Managers for the ultimate in convenient flexibility.

The GLX-D Advanced GLXD14R system also uses LINKFREQ Automatic Frequency Management, an incredible, proprietary wireless technology platform developed by Shure to optimise wireless transmitter and receiver performance in the 2.4GHz frequency band.

Just activate the GLX-D receiver and transmitter and a link will automatically be established between them, with the GLX-D receiver continuously analysing the active RF spectrum to determine the best frequency for transmission.

Once found, the GLX-D receiver automatically links both itself and the transmitter to that frequency. To improve performance, should RF interference be detected, the GLX-D receiver and transmitter seamlessly and automatically move together to a new frequency with no audio interruption.

WL93 Wireless Lavalier Microphone

It has an ultra-discreet, subminiature design making it ideal for use in theatre, television, broadcasting and film.

The smooth extended frequency response with presence rise has been tailored specifically for the WL93’s use as a chest-worn microphone, ensuring great audio pickup and it has the full, clear sound that you’d expect from a larger microphone.

Making sure you get the sound you want without distractions, it has a controlled low-frequency roll-off which reduces low-frequency clothing and room noise.

Rack Mountable Wireless Receiver

At the heart of the GLXD14R wireless lavalier system is the GLXD4R, a rack mount receiver that provides fantastic audio clarity.

An integrated battery charge port allows for convenient charging of the bodypack transmitter and has an easy to read two-colour charge indicator LED.

XLR and ¼” output connectors allow for connectivity with a huge range of equipment while a hi-res LCD screen clearly displays all necessary information.

The antennas are detachable for remote mounting while the rugged metal chassis design ensures the receiver is well protected in transit.

Bodypack Transmitter

Allowing for the quickest and easiest set up possible, the GLXD1 bodypack transmitter automatically links with GLX-D wireless receivers and provides seamless frequency changing.

Making use of GLXD proprietary lithium-ion batteries, the GLXD4R can have up to 16 hours of continuous use while an integrated battery charge port has an easy to read two-colour charge indicator LED.

Equipped with Shure Digital Power Management, you can charge the bodypack in your car, at the mains or even with a USB charger.

If you forget to charge the bodypack transmitter and you’re caught in a jam, you can also connect for a 15-minute quick charge and rely on up to 1.5 hours of performance!

Under normal conditions, the GLXD1 transmitter has a long operating range of between 20 and 30m, so you have a lot of freedom of movement – perfect for expressive exciting and expressive performances.

With its all-metal construction, the GLXD1 bodypack transmitter is as durable as Shure’s reputation would suggest and it is nicely lightweight.
