A rare opportunity to own a vintage Gretsch Chet Atkins Super Axe from the late 1970s, in an unusual green finish. Celebrated for its innovative features, the Super Axe offers great versatility with its twin Humbuckers and built in compression and phaser effects. The guitar has the playability you would expect from a Gretsch with a slender, fast, glued in maple neck, topped with an ebony fingerboard adorned with distinctive square inlays.
The one-piece intonatable Badass wraparound bridge offers excellent tuning stability, and the tuners are high-ratio German-made Schallers, which still function smoothly and reliably as they did when new.
Produced for only a year or two, the Gretsch Atkins Super Axe doesn’t sound or look like any other guitar out there, and is light, easy to play and versatile. The effects sound great and are easily accessed from the rear.
