EvenPly-Six Shells

The shells of the Pearl Masters Maple Complete are constructed from six layers of North American Maple.

Known for its even highs and mids, Maple produces a warm low-end tone. It is well represented across all the frequencies making it ideal for a wide range of musical styles.

Created using Pearl’s proprietary Superior Shell Technology, this Pearl Maple kit features a reduced shell thickness for increased resonance and cross-laminated plies for optimal strength.

The shells of the Maple Complete are 28% thinner to produce the tonal purity and increased resonance found in the legendary Pearl Masters MMX range.

Meanwhile the shells maintain a great deal of projection akin to the vibrant power of the thicker MRX series.

The result is a kit with a well-balance mix of tone and projection with great attack and full sustain for a big, powerful sound.

Superior Shell Technology

The Pearl Masters kit has been built using Pearl’s proprietary Superior Shell Technology to ensure superior tone, optimum resonance and superb strength.

The process begins with the wood selection. The Maple used in this Pearl drum kit has been specifically selected for their unique acoustic attributes.

The wood is then milled to a precise thickness and put together using overlapping scarf joint seams to ensure a perfect, air-tight fit.

The plies are then covered with Pearl’s proprietary “AcoustiGlue” which seeps into the pores of the wood before being dried to an exact consistency to give the wood optimum resonance.

The plies are then formed in high temperature moulds under 1000 PSI hydraulic pressure to produce a perfectly round drum shell.

Great care and attention have been put into the building of the Pearl Masters kits and it really shows, both in aesthetic and tone.

Pro Shell Hardware

The Pearl Maple Complete Shell Pack is fitted with a range of well-designed hardware that combines a sleek aesthetic with smooth functionality.

The toms are fitted with Pearl’s SuperHoop 2 triple-flanged hoops. These hoops are designed to offer optimal resonance and articulation, allowing the head to vibrate freely and facilitating a strong contact between the head and shell.

The 22” bass drum is adorned with SP30 spurs for secure positioning and insulated die-cast bass drum claws to ensure protection of the shell and reduced interference with the shell resonance.

Each of the shells in the Pearl Maple Complete kit are fitted with Pearl’s bridge CL lugs which have again been specifically designed to reduce shell contact and improve shell performance.

The floor tom comes complete with LB40 floor tom legs for robust stability and a secure playing position.

OptiMount Suspension System

The 10” and 12” rack toms of the Pearl Masters Maple Complete feature Pearl’s Optimount system.

This system has been specifically designed to reduce contact between the mount and the shell so that the tom is allowed to vibrate freely for uninhibited shell resonance and tonal sustain.

Rather than drilling into the shell, the Optimount system works by affixing the mount to the tom using 4 tension rod attachment points.

The Optimount can be easily removed and attached to another tom of the same diameter and the depth of the Optimount can be adjusted should you need to change your shell setup opting for toms with different depths.

Not only does the OptiMount provide improved tone it does so without jeopardising sturdy, stable tom positioning.
