The Ludwig Black Magic Chrome 14” x 8” Snare Drum features all the same sound qualities as the standard Black Magic but has chrome hardware to deliver a lighter look.

They first pioneered their nickel over brass concept in the early 1920s and have since gone on to produce what is arguably the most popular snare drum in the world; the Ludwig Black Beauty.
Featuring many of the sound qualities of the revered Black Beauty, the Black Magic allows drummers on a budget the opportunity to access classic Ludwig sound at a more affordable price.
The Black Magic Chrome snare features the same nickel-plated brass shell as the standard Black Magic snare but is instead adorned with all chrome hardware rather than black chrome fittings.
Offering the same tone as the standard Black Magic but with a different aesthetic, the Chrome Black Magic has a lighter look than it’s all black sibling.

Classic Chrome
The main difference between the standard Ludwig Black Magic and the Ludwig Black Magic Chrome is that the first has all black hardware and the later has chrome hardware.
Featuring the same nickel-plated shell as the Black Magic snare, the Black Magic Chrome has a striking, shimmered look.
Perfectly contrasting the black colour of the drum, the beaded brass shell is adorned with classic chrome hardware to offer a pop of light tone over the dark shell.
The tube lugs keep the weight on the snare to a minimum and are low contact to prevent interference with the shell resonance.
The Black Magic Chrome is fitted with 2.3mm Triple Flanged Hoops as opposed to the die-cast hoops found on the standard model.
