Lace Cigar Box instruments embody a steadfast dedication to preserving the authentic allure of Cigar Box Guitars. Meticulously crafted in Southern California, these guitars showcase exceptional artistry and premium hardware, ensuring both remarkable playability and tone. Available in visually captivating designs, they cater to various musical genres such as Rock, Alternative, Country, Blues, or Jazz, and are offered in three-string and four-string models.
A distinctive feature of all three and four-string variations is the Matchbook pickup, the world's first patented pickup explicitly designed for Cigar Box Guitars. Resembling an actual matchbook, this innovative pickup incorporates a magnet as the "striker" and operates with complete noiselessness. By combining the power of double coils with the clarity of single coils through a push-pull volume pot, it provides a versatile range of tones, from aggressive and gritty to clean and pristine.
Constructed with robust pressboard and adorned with a mahogany veneer, these instruments are lightweight and portable while maintaining durability over time. The one-piece hard rock maple neck, complemented by a double adjustable truss rod and a 20-fret maple fingerboard, ensures exceptional playability and ease of use.
The steel plate bridge, boasting 20mm of adjustability, guarantees precise intonation for each string. Vintage-inspired open-gear machine heads with a 14:1 gear ratio, coupled with a precision-cut bone nut, deliver tuning stability, accurate intonation, and remarkable sustain and harmonics.
To complement the guitar, there is an optional handcrafted Lace Guitar Box Guitar Case (model CBC34) available. This case features an elegant tweed covering with white piping accents and stitching, enhanced by an antique brass locking latch and a soft handle. The interior of the case boasts a plush red velvet lining, along with dedicated neck and body supports, providing supreme protection for your cherished instrument.
