With a nod to the rich history of Cigar Box Guitars, the Lace Cigar Box instruments embody authenticity and charm. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail and superior hardware, these guitars offer exceptional playability and tone. Made in Southern California, the visually stunning Lace Cigar Box Guitars boast custom artwork and deliver a fresh sound, perfect for Rock, Alternative, Country, Blues, or Jazz, whether you opt for the three-string or four-string model.
All 3 and 4-string models come equipped with the Matchbook pickup, the first patented pickup designed specifically for Cigar Box Guitars. This innovative pickup, designed to resemble an actual matchbook, operates with zero noise, offering both double-coil power and single-coil clarity. By using a push-pull volume pot, players can achieve a mean or clean tone.
Constructed with a robust pressboard and mahogany veneer, these lightweight and portable instruments are built to withstand the rigours of the road. The one-piece hard rock maple neck, double adjustable truss rod, and 20-fret maple fingerboard ensure excellent playability.
Featuring a steel plate bridge with 20mm of adjustability, perfect intonation of each string is easily achieved. The open-gear machine heads, reminiscent of vintage instruments, sport a 14:1 gear ratio, while the precision-cut bone nut ensures tuning stability, accurate intonation, and impressive sustain and harmonics.
To complete the package, the optional hand-crafted Lace Guitar Box Guitar Case (model CBC34) is available. Clad in tweed covering with white piping accents, antique brass locking latch, and a soft handle, this lightweight case provides supreme instrument protection with its plush red velvet lining and neck and body supports.
