Limited Edition Boutique-Style Electric Bass
Renowned luthier Rolf Spuler (co-founder of Paradis Guitars) designed and built a run of boutique Affirma basses for Ibanez during 1991/92. Despite the run being relatively short-lived (only approx 1000 models made), these basses were incredibly popular, and continue to be sought-after today.
Well, the wait is over: it's back, and available in limited numbers!

With that same lightweight, streamlined body, and half neck-through design as the original, and featuring a new Aerosilk MR5 bridge and Bartolini pickup, this is a fitting tribute to Rolf Spuler's legacy.
Ideal for bassists longing for a natural-sounding, sensitive bass, with a diverse dynamic range, that's a dream to play for any length of time, the new Ibanez AFR-4 looks as distinctive as it sounds.
Professional-Grade Construction
The half neck-through Ibanez AFR-4 features a 3pc Maple neck, reinforced with two Graphite rods for extra stability, and provides you with plenty of natural sustain and tone as a result.
Thanks to the Walnut body producing a naturally tight response and warm sound, with a firm low end. In addition to this the AeroSilk MR5 bridge works perfectly alongside the piezo pickups to further enhance the bass's acoustic-sounding qualities.
Add those natural resonances to the Bartolini pickup's deep and punchy tone, and you have a truly unique-sounding bass experience.
It's no wonder the original Affirma is still so coveted, almost 3 decades after its original release.
