Popularised by Stevie Ray Vaughan, and more recently used by such artists as Joe Bonamassa, Eric Johnson, John Mayer and more besides, the TS808's reputation is second to none. And with good reason too.
This legendary pedal and its later incarnations (such as the TS9) helped to shape the sound that almost every guitar player wanted to emulate from the late 1970s to this day!
Comprehensive Control Layout
Part of the TS808's charm was down to its simple control set, that allowed you to dial in the tone you wanted with relative ease.
These controls are simply Drive (gain amount), Tone (adjusts the amount of Treble in your signal), and Level (output volume). Simply up the Gain if you want more crunch, up the Volume if you want more output, and adjust the Tone accordingly - et voila!
Limited Edition Run
As mentioned above, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of this wonderful guitar pedal, Ibanez have released this limited run model.
Housed in a rugged metal chassis with a Ruby Red Sparkle finish, and featuring the same JRC4558D IC chip and analog circuitry as the original, this glorious Overdrive pedal would make a stand-out addition to any pedalboard.
