Crafting the Gretsch G9555 New Yorker Body
Ensuring excellent tone, Gretsch crafted the Roots Collection G9555 New Yorker with an arched Solid Spruce top.
Spruce is well known for its amazing qualities as a tonewood due to its flexibility and ability to resonate.
Parallel tone bars are in use as bracing, lending the G9555 a sturdy build and enhanced sound.
Being a Grand Auditorium sized guitar, the G9555 New Yorker delivers a sound that is full in the lower register, with will defined mid and high notes.
The smaller waist also means it fits comfortably on your knee when sitting down - great when you're performing from a stool.
Vintage Style Neck
Mahogany has been used to crafted a vintage style neck which features a "V" shape profile. This gives the neck an authentic old-school playing feel for your fretting hand.
Atop the neck, you'll find a new Padauk fretboard which is extremely similar to traditional Rosewood in both looks, qualities and playing feels but comes from a more sustainable source.
There are 19 frets, with 14 to the body, while simple dot inlays guide the way along the comfortable 25" scale length.
Allowing you to plug in and play live and loud, the Gretsch G9555 New Yorker is an electro-acoustic guitar.
Featuring a custom wound vintage-style single-coil pickup with a rubberised magnet, the electronics on this guitar allows you to get a beautifully vintage sound whether you play acoustically or plugged in.
Controls are kept simple with a single knob allowing you to adjust the overall volume of the Gretsch New Yorker.
High Quality Hardware
On the body of the G9555 New Yorker, you'll find a Rosewood bridge facilitating great transfer of the vibration from the strings into the resonating Solid Spruce top.
The bridge is compensated ensuring perfect tuning and intonation of your strings and is supported by a trapeze tailpiece.
At the headstock, six Grover Sta-Tite geared tuning machines are in place.
These great quality machine heads offer precise, fast and extremely stable tuning of your strings while their open gear design add to the vintage vibe of this gorgeous guitar.
