Crafting the 135th Anniversary Gretsch Guitar
A huge part of what gives the G6118T-135 its amazing sound is the 16-inch, 3-ply Maple hollow body which features ’59 style trestle bracing that connects the top to the back of the guitar for improved tone balance, warmth and minimised feedback.
Attached to the body is a three-piece Maple neck with a standard “U” shape, providing great, comfortable grip for your fretting hand.
Atop the neck is a 12” radius Ebony fretboard with 22 medium jumbo frets, for comfortable all-round playing performance while beautiful Pearloid Neo-Classic thumbnail position inlays guide the way.
Quality Hardware
Up on the headstock, you’ll find six Gotoh locking machine heads providing precise and extremely secure tuning of your string.
Providing you with great transfer of vibration from your strings into the resonating body of the G6118T-135 is a rocking bar bridge on a pinned Ebony base.
You’ll also be pleased to find a string-thru Bigsby B6CP tailpiece so you get all that fantastic tremolo action that only a genuine Bigsby can provide.
Filter’Tron Pickups
Along with the beautifully crafted 16” body, giving the G6118T its versatile voice is a pair of highly sensitive Filter’Tron pickups.
When played clean, the Filter’Trons can provide you with a pristine jazz tone, slightly overdrive them and you get a beautifully edgy blues tone or take them all the way for something a lot fiercer – the Filter’Trons can handle it all.
A three-position toggle allows you to use either of the pickups individually or bother together. Allowing for further sonic sculpting, you can make use of individual volume knobs for each pickup, a master tone control and a master volume that features a treble bleed circuit, so you can keep your edge no matter what volume you’re playing at.
