Crafting the GS1000
Using a single piece of Brazilian Cedar, Gordon Smith have crafted the GS1000's distinctive double cutaway body.
The double cutaway design allows for easy reach of the higher frets; great for busting out a face-melting solo and adventurous lead guitar licks.
Attached to the body via set neck construction is a single-piece Brazilian Cedar neck featuring a traditional Rosewood fretboard and the unique Gordon Smith tone pocket.
Both the neck and body are fully bound.
Great Hardware and Electronics
Back in the 1970s, Gordon Smith pioneered the coil-split humbucker. This combined with the unique GS tone circuit gives you electronics that, while seemingly simple, are extremely versatile.
Each Gordon Smith humbucker is home wound and made on the same machine and to the same specification as the original 1974 pickups; the pickups that powered the Punk Rock revolution!
On the body of the GS1000 Limited Run is a premium Gotoh 510 bridge offering great intonation while working in conjunction with the brass nut which provides great sustain and bright tone.
Up on the headstock, you’ll find 18:1 tuners that offering extremely precise and stable tuning of your strings.
