Crafting the Parlour Rosewood Avant Garde
Based on the Gibson J-165, the Parlour Rosewood AG has a very slim and small body that’s very manageable in the hands. Because of this smaller size, it is ideal for people with smaller hands or anyone that prefers a more compact style of acoustic guitar.
Despite this small size however, the Gibson Parlour guitar delivers exceptional tone and volume.
Solid Sitka Spruce has been used for this parlour guitar’s top because of its beautiful resonance, powerful projection and rich tones.
Rosewood has been used for the back and sides of the Parlour Rosewood Avant Garde.
Because of its density, Rosewood adds a deep and resonant bass to your tone while its darker colour contrasts beautifully with the lighter Spruce top.
Multi-ply binding on the top and single-ply binding to the back of the Gibson Parlour guitar strengthen the build while adding to the instrument’s great looks.
Traditional hand scalloped advanced x-style bracing is used, further enhancing tone and resonance.
The Gibson Parlour Rosewood Avant Garde also features a cutaway allowing for easy reach of the upper frets.
Gibson Advanced Response Neck Profile
Attached to the body of the Gibson Parlour via a dovetail neck-to-body joint is a Mahogany neck.
This neck features Gibson’s extremely popular Advanced Response neck profile, giving you a comfortable, ergonomic grip and speedy performance.
Giving you a great playing surface, Gibson have fitted the Parlour AG with a Richlite fretboard.
Richlite is water-resistant with low moisture absorption and, most importantly, it is environmentally friendly.
Mother-of-Pearl parallelogram inlays guide the way while adding to the already beautiful aesthetic of this parlour guitar.
LR Baggs VTC Electronics
Allowing you to plug in and get great sound, the Gibson 2019 Parlour guitar is fitted with an LR Baggs VTC system.
Voiced specifically for acoustic guitar, the VTC gives you studio quality sound with analogue warmth, right there on the stage.
Low, mid and high frequency compressors are built in and respond in real time to your playing dynamics. As a result, you get consistently stellar sound with common problem frequencies suppressed.
The pickup itself is designed to mirror the movement of your soundboard while you play. Because of this, you get the natural sound of your guitar’s body instead of just the strings.
High Quality Hardware
On the body of the Gibson Parlour Rosewood Avant Garde is a traditional, belly up style Richlite bridge with TUSQ bridge pins, offering fantastic transfer of vibration from the strings to the solid Sitka Spruce top.
For the nut, Gibson have again opted to use TUSQ as it is precision engineered under high heat and pressure to enhance the frequencies that remain in the guitar strings, resulting in fantastic sustain.
Up on the headstock, there are six Mini Grover Rotomatic tuning machines offering precise and incredibly secure tuning of your strings.
