Reinforced Center Snare Head
If you want a snare head that has great durability to withstand the hardest of hits or to stand you in good stead for a long period of time, the Evans Power Center is one to consider.
Featuring a single 10mil ply construction, this head has extra durability thanks to the centrally located 5 mil patch fixed to the top of the head. This 5” patch features unique slots to allow flexibility which ensures an open, resonant sound.
The Evans Power Center head leans towards the brighter side of Evans’ snare batter head ranges. It offers a slightly subdued attack, with lots of sustain and a full tone.
If you like your snare to sound big, open and airy with lots of resonance and ring, the Power Center is a great choice. Its robust construction means its durable and has reduced attack but lots of tone.
Level 360 Technology
As with all Evans drum heads, the Onyx drumheads feature unique Level 360 Technology.
This technology means the rim of the drum head has a vertically enhanced collar which ensures balanced contact with the shell bearing edge. This results in a proper contact between the head and the shell, ensuring a consistent fit so that the head won't damage easily or lose tension. The drumhead rim also features a roll-over hoop designed to improve the strength and stability of the head without diminishing performance.
This technology ensures a more consistent head to shell contact that provides a wider range of tuning, better responsiveness and resonance, and a stronger, longer lasting head. What’s not to like?
