Building the Epiphone G-400 Deluxe PRO
Taking inspiration from the original Gibson SG, the Epiphone G-400 Deluxe PRO boasts the very same dimensions and build techniques as used in the 1960s at Gibson's Kalamazoo factory.
Traditional Mahogany has been used for th G-400 Deluxe PRO's body with the SG's signature double cutaway providing easy access to the higher frets - great for guitar solos.
Atop the body is an arched Flame Maple top, adding to the already stunning looks of this beautiful electric guitar.
The Mahogany neck gives boasts a 1960s SlimTaper "D" profile for that authentic, original-era playing feel.
Atop the neck is a Pau Ferro fretboard with a 12" radius that's perfect for deep bends.
Alnico Classic PRO Humbuckers with Coil Splitting
Giving you incredible tonal versatility, the Epiphone G-400 Deluxe PRO is fitted with some awesome electronics
Alnico Classic PRO humbucking pickups can be found in both the bridge and neck positions.
Equipped with Alnico V magents, these humbuckers give you high output with pronounced mid and highs. As a result, you get traditional tone with modern refinement.
Two volume and two tone controls allow you to really shape your sound with the controls featuring 500K potentiometers for great performance.
With the 3-way pickup switch you can choose between using either pickup or both together.
Furthermore, the pickups have also been set up for coil-tapping.
Just pull up either of the volume knobs and you'll switch that control's humbucker over to a single-coil pickup, seriously expanding your sonic palette.
High Quality Hardware
Fitted to the body of the G-400 Deluxe PRO is the acclaimed LockTone bridge and a stopbar tailpiece offering precise intonation and improved sustain.
Up on the headstock, there's a set of six Wilkinson Vintage Classic machine heads with an ultra-precise 18:1 ratio.
