Earthquaker Devices Grand Orbiter V3 Four-Stage Phaser and Vibrato Pedal

Those clever brainiacs in Akron Ohio have gone and entered the cosmos once again again, with a new take on the wonderful Grand Orbiter! The Grand Orbiter V3 from Earthquaker Devices picks up where the previous incarnation left off, and is now home to a couple of impressive little upgrades.

In addition to an all-new soft-click relay switching system, the Grand Orbiter V3 now has a brand-new Flexi-Switch. This means that in addition to the familiar "On/Off" switching you would normally get with an effects pedal, you now have the option of using the Momentary operation, effectively adding just a quick and effective burst of altered sound into your playing without the need to look like you're Riverdancing.

Boutique, Hand-Made Phaser/Tremolo That's Out of This World!

The controls on this pedal are as easy to follow as all of those from EarthQuaker Devices.

You have Depth, which determines how much of the phase effect is mixed in with your dry signal (when in Vibrato mode this acts as a volume control).

Rate controls your LFO speed (faster or slower, that simple).

Sweep lets you control the frequency peak of the sweep.

Resonance is where you control the regeneration of the phased signal.

On top of the four control knobs you have the two switches, and this is where things get a little more interesting:

  • Rate 1, 2, 3 is where you'd change the range of the speed control (1 for slow, 2 kills the LFO, giving you a fixed resonant filter, and 3 is fast mode)
  • Phase/Vibrato cuts the dry signal completely, creating a vibe/vibrato effect dependant on the other control settings (vibrato is created by turning the Resonance control down to a low level, for instance)

Quite frankly, the array of sounds that this pedal can produce is simply out of this world. And to top it all off, the pedal is not only small enough to fit snuggly onto most pedalboards, but the jack sockets are also situated towards the top end, rather than on each side, meaning it will take up even less space!

If you have any queries regarding the availability of this awesome pedal, please contact our sales team directly.

Highlights

  • Four-stage OTA-based Phaser and Vibrato - Switchable via phase/vibrato mini-toggle
  • Rate toggle selects between three LFO speeds - Slow, Fixed and Fast
  • New Flexi-switch - allows for traditional latching or momentary operation
  • True bypass - Silent soft-touch switching
  • All-analog signal path
  • Top-mounted jacks - for effortless pedalboard implementation

Features

  • Switches: Rate 1, 2, 3 & Phase/Vibro
  • Power: 9v DC
  • Dimensions: 4.625" x 2.5" x 2.25" with knobs

As with all pedals from EarthQuaker Devices, the Grand Orbiter V3 takes a 9v DC power supply with negative centre barrel. We recommend you use a pedal-specific, transformer-isolated power adapter, as these filter out any unwanted noise from unclean power signals. Do NOT run this device at higher voltages than stated. The current draw of the Grand Orbiter is 10mA
