EarthQuaker Devices Disaster Transport SR Modulation Delay Pedal

Freshly hand-built by those clever techno-wizards at EarthQuaker Devices, PMT is proud to bring you the Disaster Transport SR, a modulation dual delay pedal with reverb to beat all opponents into submission. Despite an initially intimidating look, the Disaster Transport SR is surprisingly easy to get to grips with, and if you are a fan of old-school tape delay and crazy lo-fi sounds, then this pedal will give you hours of fun each time you plug in it.

From clanging flange to smooth chorus, this pedal has it all

The controls are separated into 2 distinct rows, with Delay A being the top row and Delay B being the bottom. Let's have a look at those scary controls now, to see if we can get our heads around them:

Delay A Controls

• Time lets you set the delay time, with anything from 30ms up to 600ms
• Repeats is where you control the amount of signal regeneration, from a single repeat up to an almost endless self-oscillating wail. This section can also be controlled via external expression pedal
• Mix is the level control for your wet signal, with unity being at around the centre point and anything above being a boost
• Depth determines the intensity of the modulation for you, from none whatsoever to a range of huge pitch bends
• Rate lets you state the rate of the modulation, and comes complete with an LED which flashes in time with the set modulation, visually indicating to you where the rate is set
• Bleed is where things start to get even more interesting, as this allows you to feed Delay A into Delay B, for series or series/parallel operation to create rhythmic repeats, elongated delay times or an all out echo wash. As with Repeats this can also be controlls via expression pedal

Delay B Controls

• Reverb controls how much reverb you'd like adding to the input
• Mix acts as a level control for your wet signal, with unity being around centre and anything above being boosted
• Repeats controls the amount of signal regeneration there is, from a single repeat through to a near infinite self-oscillating wash
• Time lets you control the delay time, from 30ms up to 300ms

As well as these controls you have the three switches. Delay A and Delay B switches let you determine the state of each delay type (on/off), and the Bypass switch allows you to ... well, bypass the effect completely.

As with all pedals from EarthQuaker Devices, the Disaster Transport SR takes a standard 9v DC power supply with negative centre barrel. We always recommend pedal-specific, transformer isolated power adapters for use with these pedals, as they help minimise any unwanted noise from unclean power signals. Do NOT run this pedal at higher voltages than stated. The current draw is 100mA
