Maple Shells

As with all the kits in the DW Design series, the Frequent Flyer is constructed from thick North American Maple.

Maple is characterised by its even response across the high and mid frequencies and its slightly warm low-end tone.

Delivering an all-purpose sound, maple is the perfect choice when it comes to playing various styles.

From the deep punch of rock and pop to the higher cut of jazz and disco, the maple Frequent Flyer drums have you covered no matter what style you play.

The shells feature DW’s HVLT technology which involves Vertical Low Timbre Shells that have a horizontal outer ply.

Shell Hardware

All of the shells in this Frequent Flyer drum kit are fitted with True Pitch Tension Rods which work to ensure easy, consistent and long-lasting tuning.

The bass drum features low mass die cast claw hooks and low mass spurs to again keep the weight of the drum to a portable weight.

Perfect Portability

DW have undertaken extensive research and development in the creation of the Frequent Flyer kit in order to find the optimum sizes to ensure convenient portability without jeopardising sound.

Ultimately, they settled on a 20” kick drum to deliver robust bass tone and used a 12” bass drum depth to accommodate lightweight portability.

Similarly, the diameter of the floor tom has been kept to a traditional 14” size to deliver thunderous low-end tone, while the depth has been reduced to 11” to provide improved ease of transport.

The rack tom has been kept to a standard 12” x 8” size, as has the matching 14” x 5” snare.
