Martin Guitars brought in acclaimed artist Robert F. Goetzl to create a custom design for the Martin DX Woodstock 50th Anniversary guitar.
Replicating elements of the, now legendary, 1969 festival poster with a nod to its 50 year anniversary, this artwork is absolutely striking.

Crafting the Martin DX Woodstock Guitar
For the top, back and sides, Martin have used HPL (High Pressure Laminate). While the top features the custom Woodstock artwork, a great looking mahogany-grain can be found on the back and sides.
HPL is a great material as it is extremely durable and sourced more sustainably than standard woods while still producing rich, dynamic sound.
Secure with a sturdy mortise & tenon joint, the neck has a High Performance taper which makes it extremely playable.
The fretboard is made using FSC Certified Richlite, a fantastic, water-resistant material that boasts low moisture absorption and is environmentally friendly.
Fishman Sonitone Electronics
Allowing you to get great sound that picks up all the nuances of your playing, the Sonitone system features an undersaddle pickup.
The preamp is discreetly mounted within the soundhole. A tone control on the preamp allows you to adjust the amount of treble in your sound while a second knob allows you to adjust the volume.
The battery compartment is found at the bottom of the guitar where you insert your cable, thus balancing out the weight giving you a more balanced playing feel.
Furthermore, placing the battery compartment here means there are less hole in the Martin DX Woodstock guitar’s body so you get better resonance and tone.
