Fender Jazzmaster

The Fender Jazzmaster is uniquely styled, synonymous with alternative rock and shoegaze. For those that like to step outside the conventional norms of traditional electric guitar designs, the Jazzmaster's floating-point tremolo and offset body makes it a truly special instrument.

First introduced in 1958, the Jazzmaster was the first guitar with an "offset-waist" body made by Fender, but despite its name, it didn't become popular with Jazz players. It perhaps looked too futuristic and wasn't as straightforward as the guitars Jazz musicians were used to play, with its innovative bridge, "soapbar" pickups and new dual-circuit. However, the Jazzmaster was quickly adopted by some surf-rock bands like The Ventures, and even The Beach Boys.

In addition to its appreciation in the Surf Rock scene, the Fender Jazzmaster has become somewhat of a favourite of Grunge and Indie musicians thanks to its unique look and instantly recognisable sound from its pickups. The addition of extra controls such as the unusual "roller" thumbwheel controls and slide switch offer players greater control over their sound – something that Shoegaze and Indie players really enjoy.

The Fender Squier Jazzmaster range offers incredible playability at a budget price that we can all afford. These guitars are handmade utilising the same stringent construction techniques and processes used at the mainline Fender factory, so you know you’re getting a high-quality instrument every time. We recommend checking out the Classic Vibe range which is constructed to emulate the sound and feel of vintage Fender guitars from some of the most important decades in Fender history. A perfect option for guitarists on a budget and for the first-time players out there.

The Fender player series Jazzmaster range replaces the Made in Mexico series and includes a selection of updated features like all new Player Series pickups, a new “Modern C” neck and coil-split switches for those with humbucker style configurations. If you want a hard-working performance quality Jazzmaster that you can rely on, then this is a great option at around half the cost.

The Fender American Performer series Jazzmaster guitars feature hand-shaped Alder bodies for added resonance as well as all-new Yosemite single-coil Jazzmaster pickups that are sonically versatile – ideal for all genres. A new Greasebucket tone system lets you cut your treble without worrying about losing any gain or “muddying” your sound. This means you can ride the Tone pot as much as you want without loss of clarity. A satin-finished neck with a “Modern C” shaped profile adds extra comfort whilst you’re playing. Finally, A vintage-style bridge offers more stability for those who like to ride the trem arm.

The Fender American Original Jazzmaster recreates the voice and style of the American Original 60s style Jazzmasters but adds modern reliability and playability improvements. You have Pure Vintage single-coil Jazzmaster pickups for hat authentic Jazzmaster tone, vintage-correct hardware as well as vintage accurate body and neck radii – this is like stepping back in time and shopping for your guitar in the 60s!

The Fender American Professional II Jazzmaster range features V-Mod pickups which have been overwound and voiced specifically for their positions resulting in a hotter tone and warmer, clearer sound overall. A new “Deep C” neck profile provides a greater canvas for you to create chords and solos on whilst the Treble Bleed circuit ensures your high end is retained when you turn down the volume knob – ideal for those who ride the volume for dynamics.

The Fender FSR or Fender Short Run guitars as they’re widely known offer collectors a chance to get a Jazzmaster featuring a range of unique tonewoods, pickup configurations and finishes that make them highly sought after. These guitars are often never to be made again so if you want a unique Jazzmaster guitar that is essentially a piece of history – the FSR series is a must-have.

Finally, we have the pinnacle of Fender design – the Fender Custom Shop Jazzmaster guitars. These guitars feature period-accurate, premium parts that allow you to get the same tone and playing experience as you would if you’d brought back a guitar in a time machine. In addition, these guitars are completely custom, which means you can design your own guitar to your specifications and get a Jazzmaster guitar that is completely unique to you including finish, pickups and hardware options.
