Legendary Tone
For this pedal, Aclam decided to deliver a faithful recreation of their classic Grampian Reverberation Type Unit 636 - a classic preamp from the 1960s, with an original unit in great shape being used as a reference.
To stay true to the original, this original circuit was traced and recreated with the modern player in mind.
Improved Signal To Noise Ratio
Extra effort was put into play to ensure that this circuit has been accurately adapterd for the modern age, with a key improvement being an impressive reduction in unwanted noise - in fact you will barely notice any inherent hiss when it's active.
Not only that, but the circuit has been made a little brighter, resulting in a greater high-frequency spectrum than the original.
Shape Your Tone
For added versatility, The Windmiller has been given Tone Cut controls for both High and Low frequencies.
These controls make it suitable for many different types of amplifier and guitar combinations, whether you're using a classic vale amp and single coils, or a modern modeling amp and humbuckers.
Preamp Or Clean Boost
Thanks to its low input impedance, The Windmiller reacts differently to different signal sources, giving you plenty of options for your setup.
When plugged straight into your guitar before any other device, you can colour your sound beautifully, but put it after a buffer and you'll get a super clean and linear booster, just with the addition of the afore-mentioned tone-shaping controls.
In addition to this, The Windmill has been equipped with an Overload Indicator Lamp - just like the original Grampian 636 - which is very useful as a signal monitor.
