PMT Portsmouth Music Store Experts

I just wanted to take a moment to comment on how brilliant Andy Fisher is when my wife and I visit your store in Portsmouth. He is a very polite and well-knowledged employee who has given us fantastic customer service every time we come to your store. He always welcomes us and gives us his full attention regardless if we are just browsing or buying. Because of this we are regular customers and would rate his service to anyone.
Good job.
On arrival, despite being busy, Gary was welcoming and helpful. He took the time out of what he was doing to go over with me to identify the guitars I wanted to try. He then passed me over to a very helpful lady that proceeded to get me a practice room and all the guitars I wanted to try.
After much debate, I went for a lovely US Tele Special, by bar the most expensive guitar I own and I love it. Again the team were great, got it all ready for me, bagged it all up and left me as a very happy customer.
On top of already great service, they even put up with my two very excited children and less excited wife waiting for me to finish in the store.
Great stuff PMT Portsmouth, Thank you!
The first thing to mention is that I traded a used amp. Nothing unusual about that you might think except that I've traded gear at other establishments in the past and have been made to feel somewhat awkward when doing so. You know, a bit like the proverbial second hand car salesman's sharp intake of breath as they value your trade in.
Not here. I simply put my gear in the hands of the store manager for valuation while George Bell (who is great by the way) set up my new guitar in the quiet room for me to try out. Long story short, valuation came back at a very fair price so I was able to upgrade to my perfect acoustic.
Minimum Fuss. Maximum service. Excellent. Again.
I will always be coming to the store for years to come. I still have a gig bag I bought when the shop was in North End as Nevada 16 years ago and its still going strong, and another acoustic about 7 years ago. So all in all the store is awesome :)
A great warehouse showroom tucked away in Drayton with a little of something for everyone, including budding DJ and music production wannabes like myself.
I decided to get back into DJing, for fun, at home. So I thought I'd check PMT out.
What can I say other than FANTASTIC! What a great store and what great service.
I was greeted by a couple of really friendly staff and when I mentioned the reason for my visit (to listen to some monitors) Andy kindly began to help.
We went into the DJ and production showroom and Andy proceeded to spend a long time helping me deliberate the finer points of a variety of studio monitors.
He was exceptionally helpful and very friendly and a great guy to chat to about music.
Full of really helpful advice and not pushy in any way when it came to recommending products.
I could imagine that in a lot of high street stores (Which PMT definitely isn't) that I would have probably been seen as a time waster and I opted to come back later to listen to some larger monitors that weren't connected up at the time, once I had something to eat, so I could make a more rational decision and not a spontaneous one on an empty stomach.
Andy was incredibly accommodating and spent more time with me later that day, helping me to get over my initial indecision from the morning.
I left with a great pare of Adam V7T's and some speaker stands.
What a great store and what exceptional service all round.
My thanks to Andy, and if this gets back to him please remind him of the band I mentioned; "Make Good Your Escape".
Thanks, Stu (The DJ) ;)
I popped into your Portsmouth Branch today to get my son’s guitar re-stringed and tuned and had some wonderful customer service from Gary.
In the process of doing what was required, Gary took the time to show my 12 year old how to re-string the guitar for himself (and do a good proper job of it too!)
This is the kind of customer service that will keep us coming back to your store. Gary is a credit to your company and he creates an inclusive environment that is key to customer service. Well done chaps!
