Excellent Birmingham store service - Dave A****
I was greeted by a chap called Dave and i explained i was interested in buying another guitar, a Fender Stratocaster to be precise. I explained i wanted to try a few options and in particular i was attracted to flashy looking guitars. I selected several to play and Dave took me to a practice room where i spent a couple of hours playing different guitars. His knowledge was excellent and he was very patient. Dave listened to what i wanted as a musician and provided the right equipment when i needed it followed by advice on the differences between each one. I settled on a very good guitar and a couple of pedals. If you are going to buy from PMT, GO TO THE BIRMINGHAM STORE.

Overview

The new Vox VX II Modelling Guitar Amp delivers incredible tone at a very affordable price - the type of quality many players could only dream of just a few years ago. But amp modeling has come a long way over the years, thanks in no small part to the efforts of Vox. Their Valvetronix range offered an array of their distinctive British tones, alongside some recognisable classics. Not ones to rest on their laurels Vox have developed the all new VET (Virtual Element Technology) for the latest VX modeling amps, resulting in true valve tone in a combo that weighs under 4kg!

With 11 distinctive amplifier tones, effects, silent headphone practice and aux in the VX I represents a great introduction to the world of true tone for beginners. While more seasoned guitarists can get a taste of the state of the art in amp modeling.

There's no rough approximations of classic tones in the VX 1, Vox took apart some of the finest amps in their arsenal and looked at every individual component, modeling them accurately using VET. The same approach was taken with the FX to deliver everything from impeccable AC30 tones or vintage delays to high-gain, crunch, and clean tones from other classic amp designs.

Vox Also Developed A New Sealed Cabinet

In order to obtain a more authentic sound and produce sound more efficiently, we employed a uniquely designed-bass reflex structure in conjunction with a sealed, one-piece speaker enclosure. While providing an external appearance appropriate for a guitar amp, the cabinet's shape, the curvature of the front and back surfaces, and the internal reinforcement ribs have all been carefully designed to optimize the resonance. A conventional wooden baffle was chosen to retain the projection and tone of a classic guitar amp, while the cabinet is constructed from lightweight and durable ABS. The combination of these two materials yields a superior acoustical property that sounds superb yet retains easy portability. All of these unique elements work together to bring forth a level of sound quality that was previously unachievable with an amp of this class.
