The Sabian 14" Hoop Crasher was designed by well-respect drummer Jojo Mayer to create a white noise style effect for your snare drum.
Unique Snare Sound Effect
Created in collaboration with Jojo Mayer, the Sabian Hoop Crasher was designed to add a metallic tone to your snare sound. Simply lay the Hoop Crasher on the top of the snare head and you're ready to go.
Fitting neatly around the edge of the batter head this Hoop Crasher still leaves room for you to play your snare without touching / activating the crasher effect. Then when you want to add it into the mix it's simply a case of including it in your snare hit, for an instant electro vibe, white noise layer to your sound.
Consisting of two rings made from B20 bronze hi hats, the 14" Hoop Crasher has a top floating ring that has 32 holes within in. This allows a lighter weight and more lift to provide an airy movement to the crasher hoop. The heavier bottom ring features Sabian's accelerator airwave lip that prevents airlock and minimises contact with the snare to avoid the hoop deadening your snare sound.
The rings can be attached together or can be left free for more sound possibilities. The Hoop Crasher comes with three clamps that offer three layers of tightness enabling you to adjust your sound options. The tighter you have the clamps the shorter the decay of the Hoop Crasher sound. If you want a more open, loose sound simply reduce the tightness of the clamps.
Ideal for the kinds of music Jojo Mayer plays, this Hoop Crasher slots perfectly into electro, breakbeats, hip-hop and dub for an easy white noise effect that will elevate your snare sound to a new level of creativity.
