Upgraded BTB-6 In A Redesigned Body
Not content to rest on their laurels, Ibanez have redesigned a lot of their models for 2017 with some great new features, consistently pushing the boundaries of their instruments and the world of rock music.
The BTB Series has seen a great evolution for 2017 with the new upgraded factors and high-end bass features.
Great Design and Quality Build
A new, sleek body design with a curved bevel helps create a more slender and elegant feel. The Mahogany body features nice warm tone with a deep, rich resonance while the Walnut top provides tight response and warm sound with a firm low end.
A zero fret has been installed to provide accurate intonation and minimal string height. The zero fret also serves to create a more uniform tone when playing by ensuring that open strings have the same qualities as when they are fretted. Each fret is stainless steel.
A deep cutaway for the lower “horn” has been implemented to increase playability of the higher frets; perfect for amazing bass solos and adventurous bass melodies, ideal for the virtuosos. The 18th fret neck joint of the upper horn provides tonal sustain and enhanced neck stability.
The BTB746 has a 35” scale through-neck which is constructed with 5 pieces of Maple and Rosewood, providing massive sustain and excellent stability.
The added neck adjustment allows for you to adjust the neck easily without loosening the strings. The extended scale length of helps to create a clear sound and sufficient string tension for the lower strings while allowing for ringing sustain to the upper strings. Furthermore, the extended scale is essential for 6 string bass guitars.
Great Hardware and Electronics
A Mono-Rail V bridge has been installed due to the wide intonation adjustment range it provides and its capability to transfer maximum string vibration to the body without interference.
An Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-Band EQ and 3-Way Midfrequency switch allows for full and precise tonal control (250Hz, 450Hz and 700Hz).
Two Bartolini BH2 dual-coil pickups with rich, low frequency provide a balanced and warm response with a tight bottom end and full midrange.
Due to their dynamic range and harmonic response, Ibanez have opted to install the widely acclaimed NYXL strings on the BTB746 6-string bass.
Another great feature Ibanez have included on the BTB746 is an extremely secure, high-tech Neutrik locking output jack.
