The Ibanez AVCB9CE-NT is a Grand Concert acoustic bass that is a great example of the Ibanez Artwood Vintage series.
Thermo Aged Compact Body Bass
The Ibanez AVCB9CE features Thermo Aged tonewood with Solid Sitka Spruce on the top, Spruce bracing and a Maple bridge plate. Its compact Grand Concert body and 32” scale length provide comfortable playability.
Thanks to its combination of Thermo Aged materials, the AVC9BCE-NT has great projection and clear, well-balanced tone from the high ends to the low.
Thermo Aged Wood
Carefully selected and seasoned tone wood is heated in a vacuum with a specific treatment depending on each individual type of wood in order to release water and decompose resin contained within the wood.
As a result, Thermo Aged tone wood becomes lightweight, durable and stable; much like tone wood that has been dried over decades, while providing amazing response and a louder sound.
The tonal character of Thermo Aged wood has full-bodied low-end and great, smooth sustain with a timbre that would only expect from vintage guitars.
Also, the Thermo Aged process results in the spruce tops turning a beautiful amber colour that adds a nice visual vintage characteristic.
Quality Electronics
A Fishman Sonicore pickup has been installed alongside an Ibanez AEQ-SP2 preamp with a 2-Band EQ so you can plug in, get great acoustic tone live on stage and tailor the sound until you find the exact tone your equire. It even has a built in chromatic tuner!
