Toneful Pickups
Fitted with a pair of Yamaha's own VH5+ humbucker style pickups featuring Alnico V magnets, you can expect a balance of bright vintage highs, with powerful modern tonality to match.
Each pickup is custom-wound and designed by the team at YGD (Yamaha Guitar Development) to ensure bespoke clarity and durability with plenty of character.
Innovative Dry Switch
Designed especially for their Revstar range of guitars, the RS820 comes equipped with a revolutionary Dry Switch. With the option to split your double coil into a single coil, ordinarily, you would expect a muddiness and loss of volume as an unavoidable side effect - but the innovative technicians at Yamaha have developed a solution.
Filtering out the low frequencies using a passive filter circuit, the dry switch improves the clarity of the single coil and fills the tone, which would otherwise be hollow and lacking. The addition of this Dry Switch makes the RS820 a truly versatile instrument with plenty of tone options for a variety of styles.
Custom Design
Yamaha have truly stuck to their café racer roots, ensuring each part of the guitar remains unique and interesting - Purpose-built from parts to paint, the RS820 truly looks the part.
Yamaha created the Revstar range with one thing in mind - individuality. Focus your attention on any single part of this guitar and you'll see a carefully crafted curve, cutaway, taper or angle that you know is unique and not just imitation.
