Premium-Grade Construction
To deliver these stunning aesthetics, Yamaha has made this guitar with a dual-cutaway design, an Alder body and a Flame Maple top piece.
In addition to this, the translucent Caramel Brown finish perfectly compliments the unique wood grain of the Flame Maple, giving the guitar a boutique-look, especially with the faux tortoiseshell pickguard too.
Bolted on to the body is a sleek, highly-playable Maple neck, capped with a 22-fret Rosewood fingerboard, that's specially carved to deliver a comfortable playing experience, whatever your playstyle.
SP90-1 Neck Pickup
With the SP90-1 you get a vintage recreation of those famous late 1940s P90 single coil pickups.
Due to the wide bobbins within the pickup, the tonal character of these P90s is unique, with powerful midrange and higher output levels when compared to a standard Single Coil.
The SP90-1 sounds both sweet and smooth, perfect for those big fat sounding chords, and creamy melodic leads.
Custom 5 Bridge Humbucker
In the bridge position you'll find a fantastic Custom 5 Humbucker, also from Seymour Duncan.
This pickup is like a higher-output version of the classic SD '59 humbucker, and offers a more vintage, less distorted tone with a deeper bottom end.
Because of this tonal response, the Custom 5 is great for pretty much any kind of music, whether you play clean or dirty, and makes the perfect companion to the SP90-1.
Add to this the inclusion of a Push/Pull tone control that allows you to split the Custom 5 humbucker into a single coil pickup, and you have an even wider range of pristine tones at your disposal.
Top-Notch Hardware
With the Wilkinson vibrato bridge you can add a whole world of inflections onto your playing, from slight shimmers to deep dive bombs.
Because of the Grover locking tuners, you can perform these actions on the vibrato without ever compromising the guitar's tuning stability!
These locking tuners also allow you to perform string changes faster than ever before.
