The Yamaha FG3 Red Label acoustic guitar boasts timeless design with modern precision for an all-around fantastic folk guitar.

Return of The Red Label

Back in the 1960s, Yamaha released the acclaimed Red Label acoustic guitar line.

Known for their great craftsmanship, excellent playability and beautiful tone, these guitars are highly sought after even today.

Now, Yamaha have released a new line of Red Label acoustic guitars delivering that timeless style with modern guitar building techniques for incredible performance.

Yamaha FG3 Red Label Acoustic Guitar Key Features:

  • 1960s Aesthetics
  • Traditional Western Style Guitar
  • New Scalloped Bracing Patterns
  • A.R.E. Treated Top
  • All-Solid Construction
  • Ebony Fretboard and Bridge
  • Gotoh Tuners
  • Includes Hard Bag

High Quality Woods

The Yamaha FG3 Red Label acoustic guitar is made with all solid wood construction.

The top is made from Solid Sitka Spruce. An extremely popular top wood for acoustic guitar building, Sitka Spruce offers rich midrange and great low-frequency response.

With a sound that is crisp and focused, Sitka Spruce is great for strumming chords and fingerstyle performance.

For the back and sides, Yamaha have opted for solid Mahogany which imbues your tone with warmth whilst adding strength to your midrange.

Attached to the body is an African Mahogany neck holding an Ebony fretboard which offers a beautifully smooth and highly durable playing surface.

Acoustic Resonance Enhancement

The Acoustic Resonance Enhancement treatment method is exclusive to Yamaha.

Using heat, humidity and atmospheric pressure, A.R.E. treatment accelerates the aging of the wood so that you get beautifully rich, vintage sounding tone.

From the very first moment you pick up the Yamaha FG3, it will sound like a guitar that you’ve been playing for years.

Other Fantastic Features

Aside from the top quality woods used for the construction of the Yamaha FG3, there are a few other features that really make this dreadnought guitar stand out from the competition.

Rather than just produce complete copies of older models, Yamaha took popular guitar types and modified them.

While the differences are subtle, the slightly wider body of the Yamaha FG3 gives it a warmer sound while its semi-gloss finish gives it a vintage look and feel.

To enhance the warmth of the Yamaha FG3 Red Label acoustic guitar’s tone, the bracing pattern has been modified.

Optimised to match the characteristics of the Yamaha FG3’s tone woods and dreadnought body shape, this new bracing pattern gives you full, strong sound that is perfect for modern folk music and singer-songwriter performance.

High Quality Hardware

Up on the headstock of the Yamaha FG3 Red Label dreadnought guitar is a set of six Gotoh open gear tuners providing incredibly secure and precise tuning of your strings.

The Yamaha FG3 has the original FG headstock shape emblazoned with the Yamaha “Tuning Fork” logo. The traditional truss rod cover is adorned with “Since 1966” script as a nod to the original launch of Yamaha’s FG guitars.

Down on the body, you’ll find an Ebony bridge offering great transfer of energy from your strings to the resonating A.R.E. treated solid Sitka Spruce top.

Modern Techniques, Vintage Tone and Style

Using modern, cutting-edge acoustic guitar building techniques and wood treatment processes, the Yamaha FG3 gives you the look and sound of a vintage model.

What’s more, it comes to you in a hard gig bag so it’s ready to hit the road as soon as you want to get out and gig.

Buy the Yamaha FG3 Red Label acoustic guitar from Professional Music Technology for a beautifully crafted guitar that gives you excellent playability and rich, vintage quality tone.
