A Classic Redefined
For this excellent 5-string, Yamaha looked to the BroadBass of the 1970s and 1980s, but re-designed it with a slimmer neck and body, and a host of lightweight hardware.
The end result is a perfectly-balanced instrument that's supremely comfortable to play in any situation, and that's before we've even mentioned the electronics.

The body on this bass a unique blend of Alder and Maple, which not only offers increased stability, but also results in unparalleled resonance and sustain.
In addition to this, the sleek 3-piece Maple and Mahogany neck is bolted on with a 6-bolt Miter joint, which offers increased sustain and resonance.
Top Notch Hardware
To be complete a good bass needs good hardware, and the Yamaha BB 735A delivers on all fronts.
To begin with the lightweight tuning machines compliment the overall feel of the bass, and are perfectly matched to the newly refined, lighter BB body.
In addition to this, the Vintage Plus Bridge incorporates diagonal body-through stringing for increased string vibration transference, whilst the steel plate delivers a brighter-sounding tone for extra clarity.
Versatile Electronics
For the voice on this bass, Ymaha have opted for a set of powerful Custom V7 pickups, with a Split Coil at the Middle and a Single Coil at the Bridge.
These pickups are enhanced by the inclusion of switchable Active/Passive circuitry, with a 3-band EQ and a pickup "Balance" control, allowing you to dial in a superb array of tones that are suitable for any musical situation.
