Slim-style and Matched Tonewoods
One of the APX's outstanding features is its slim-style body. This thin body design delivers perfect comfort, easy high-end fret access and a balanced overall tone.
The body is constructed from the trusted combination of a Solid Spruce top with Solid Rosewood back and sides. These matched tonewoods, along with the body-style produces a sonic vision of highs full of clarity, clear mids and warm lows.
The specially engineered non-scalloped X-type bracing warrants the guitar's Solid Spruce top to naturally sing with full resonance.
Complete dynamics, richness and clear sensitivity emanates purely from this acoustic, offering the player a fully designed and well thought out instrument.
The APX guitar series feature an Oval shaped sound hole, fattening up the midrange response, and firming up the low end
The comfortable Solid Mahogany neck, with a easy fret Ebony fingerboard top off the playability on this Yamaha Electro Acoustic.
SRT Authentic Acoustic Tone
When recording an acoustic in the studio, guitarists will use a microphone. On stage the guitarist will use the guitars preamp which are very effective in live situations because the sound and volume can be adjusted with the other instruments in the band but isn't the same as a studio recorded acoustic with a mic.
The Yamaha's SRT system lets the guitarist develop that same studio recorded sound for live performance. It lets them choose between three different high-spec studio microphone types alomgside two different mic positions.
Using the blend knob the performer can mix the fitted piezo and mic sounds, and control of body resonance with the the knob of the same name. Allowing complete control of your guitars output, letting the Yamaha sing with rich, natural sounds in a live environment.
The SRT system is powered by two AA batteries rather than the more common PP3 9V. Using an internal circuit to boost the batteries voltage to 11V greatly reduces distortion, even when the batteries are low.
