Mahogany has been used for the top, back and sides of the Washburn HG12S.
Not only does Mahogany look beautiful with its dark grain, it adds a warmer character to your tone than you'd expect from woods such as Spruce or Cedar.
As the Washburn HG12S features a solid top, you get incredible tone that just gets better with age.
Supported by cathedral peaked scalloped-X bracing, the solid Mahogany top is able to resonate and flex to generate incredible tone and volume.
Satin Finished Neck
Completing the Washburn HG12S's all-Mahogany construction, attached to the body is a Mahogany neck.
Treated to a satin finish, this Mahogany neck is extremely comfortable in your fretting hand and allows for quick, smooth playing.
A Mahogany neck has been chosen, completing the all Mahogany construction of the Washburn HG12S.
An Ovangkol fretboard adorns the neck with 20 frets and traditional dot inlays are used as position markers.
NuBone has been used for the nut. Derived from Graph Tech’s famous TUSQ material, NuBone is designed to deliver enhanced tone transfer and sustain to your guitar sound and does not dampen the sound like other nuts will.
