"Le Lead", a Dual Channel MIDI Tube Preamp from Two Notes

Two Notes Audio Engineering embarked upon a mission subsequent to the launch of their Torpedo C.A.B., and that was to give guitar and bass players the opportunity to utilise a pedalboard that would completely replace a conventional tube amp system. With that in mind they set about developing the new Le Preamp range of pedals, including Le Lead, a (potentially) distortion-heavy Dual Channel Tube preamp with MIDI and DI capabilities. And now we sell them here at PMT!

Everything at your fingertips, from metal to all out fuzz!

Le Lead has by far the widest range of distortion sounds in the whole Le Preamp range. Channel A gives you a nice mix of clean and warm tube crunch, whilst Channel B replicates a modern high-gain amplifier with plenty of mid sweep. Activating both channels at the same time initiates the Fusion Circuit, and that's when things start to get really dirty. Cold Fusion setting gives you a dual clean & distorted channel mix, making sure there's plenty of crunch without losing any of your tonal clarity. Hot Fusion on the other hand is a dirty dirty beast, giving you a huge amount of gain and sustain at your fingertips. And yes, it even Djents!

Of course, that's just the Pre-amp basics of this incredible foot pedal. The Two Notes Le Lead has many more things to offer than being merely another pedal on your pedal board. This pedal can be utilised effectively in the following ways:

  • As a traditional preamplifier, connected to a power amp & cab, or in the Return input of a bass amp
  • Placed before an amp as a boost / OD / Distortion pedal
  • When used alone (or with the Torpedo C.A.B) can be directly connected to a mixing board on stage or in-studio, eliminating the need for an amplifier
  • As a headphone amp during quiet / practice time
  • Connect to a MIDI interface for recording directly into Wall of Sound III (speaker / mic simulation plug in)

This premium-quality preamp pedal is not only powerful enough to muscle its way on to your pedalboard, it's also constructed with a sturdy, robust and compact design, looks stylish, and is fairly reasonably priced in comparison with market competitors. Not only that, but the unqie True High Voltage Design of this pedal means that it runs internally at 200 volts, meaning that it works in perfect harmony with your other pedals whilst preserving the interaction between you and your guitar.
