With the Toontrack EZkeys Hybrid Harp you get a powerful VST that layers, textures, and saturates five individual instruments in various capacities to deliver an array of unique hybrid sounds.
Five Impressive Instruments
Amongst the instruments on display here, you will find the following:
- The iconic Style 23 Harp - an instrument that dates back to the 1800s, and is one of the most recognised harps in the world
- Traditional Swedish nickelharpa ("keyed fiddle") - a traditional stringed instrument, usually played with a bow, but with keys attached to buttons that act as "frets"
- Two harmoniums - popular within smaller churches and schools throughout the 20th century
- A Bowed glockenspiel - a classic tonal percussive instrument, traditionally player with mallets, but in this case Toontrack have used the sound of a bow striking the edges of each metal plate
- A set of Ocarinas - a type of vessel flute which belongs to a family of instruments believes to be at least 12,000 years old!
Logicly, these instruments have no business sharing the same airwaves, but this seemingly-odd group of instruments combine to great effect.
The end result is a vastly puzzling audio uuniverse of plucking, percussive, soaring, airy, beautiful, and slightly dissonant sounds that ensures you're never short of ideas.
Easy To Navigate
Finding the sound you are looking for couldn't be easier, thanks to the huge array of presets within this VST, which are organised into folders labeled Atmospheric, Distorted, Organic, Percussive, and Raw Tweaks.
Each of these presets brings together various combinations of the above-mentioned instruments to give you a massive array of mix-ready voices to choose from.
