Adding to the fantastic looks of this amazing guitar, the Wild Honey Burst finish has been applied in such a way as to ensure the colour penetrates wood grain enhancing the depth of the colour while showcasing the beautiful natural grain of the torrefied Spruce top.

Grand Pacific Guitar – A Dreadnought with Incredible Low-End Clarity
The new Grand Pacific guitar shape was designed to be an evolution of the dreadnought guitar and features rounded shoulders.
With standard dreadnought guitars you get booming low-end but it is often clouded and muddy and you lose note definition.
Taylor’s Grand Specific guitar manages to maintain that fantastic low-end but has greater clarity across the board so the Taylor 517e has better sounding tone and much more versatility.
The end result is the great performance of a dreadnought but without the same confines so it’s suitable for all styles of acoustic performance – even fingerstyle players will appreciate the Taylor 517e Grand Pacific.
Crafting the Builder’s Edition 517e
The Builder’s Edition 517e’s top is made from torrefied Sitka Spruce. Spruce is an extremely popular tone wood due to its broad dynamic range and rich tones.
Aided by the torrefaction process, this guitar will give you the sound of a beautifully aged guitar from the moment you take it out of the case.
For the back and sides, Taylor have used neo-tropical Mahogany which adds its own dry and woody characteristics to the guitar’s tone.
V-Class bracing is used inside the Taylor 517e, giving it improved projection and sustain.
Giving you warm, rounded tone and incredible note clarity across the entire spectrum, the Taylor 517e performers far beyond the expectations of a standard dreadnought guitar.
Taylor Builder’s Edition Features
Taylor Builder’s Edition guitars come with a high amount of prestige and offer a high level of playability owed to their exclusive features.
A new compound-carve neck profile is used, which complements your fretting hand wherever you play along the neck.
This neck has a slight V shape around the nut area which gradually transitions to a rounded C the closer you get to the rounded, ridgeless heel.
Enhancing this smooth playability and comfort, the fretboard boasts rolled edges on both sides of the neck.
The Grand Pacific body itself features chamfered edges for added comfort too while traditional binding adds to the timeless look of the guitar.
Fitted to the body is a new curve wing bridge which has rounded edges and refined contouring, significantly improving pick hand comfort.
Expression System 2 Electronics
Fitted with Taylor's Expression System 2 electronics system, the Builder's Edition 517e sounds fantastic when you plug in to play live and loud.
The undersaddle pickup features three differen sensors that are individually placed to capture all the nuances and dynamics of your performance.
Plus, with the professional audio-grade preamp, you can be sure the Taylor 517e retains the rich tones of its acoustic performance when you plug into an amp or PA system.
