Western Red Cedar Top and V-Class Bracing
Less dense than the more commonly used spruce, Western Red Cedar has been used for the top of this limited edition Taylor 514ce.
This softer make up produces a warmer sound.
Giving you a uniform dynamic, the Taylor 514ce's cedar top increases the volume of tones that would normally be quieter while setting a limit on high volume levels.
This sort of performance is perfect for players with a softer touch and fingerstyle players in particular.
As a solid top, this Western Red Cedar gives you beautiful resonant tone which will improve with age.
Within the body of the Taylor 514ce LTD is Taylor's innovative V-Classic bracing.
This unique bracing system is able to maintain the rigidity of the solid top while increasing its flexibility.
As a result, you get increased sustain, more volume and improved intonation.
Solid Hawaiian Koa Back and Sides
Instantly recognisable thanks to its dark, unique grain, the back and sides of the Taylor 514ce LTD are made from Hawaiian Koa.
This tropical hardwood gives you the pronounced midrange you'd expect from mahogany and blends it with the bright top end produced by maple.
Furthermore, the more you play the Taylor 514ce LTD, the more the koa will open up given you even richer, more resonant tone as it midrange expands.
Grand Auditorium Versatility
Thanks to its incredible versatility, the Grand Auditorium is the most popular body shape available from Taylor.
With a size that places it somewhere between Dreadnought and Grand Concert style guitars, the Grand Auditorium gives you characteristics from both.
This gives you rounded low end with articulate mid range and sparkling highs along with solid projection.
An elegantly crafted Venetian cutaway to the body provides easy access to the upper frets, opening up your performance potential.
Attached to the body via sturdy scarf joint is a tropical mahogany neck that boasts a nice, smooth satin finish for fast, comfortable playing.
Atop the neck is a West African ebony fretboard continuing that smooth playability.
