Crafting the 414ce-R
The tried and tested, and some say “ultimate”, combination of woods is at play here with solid Sitka Spruce acting as the 414ce-R’s top with solid Indian Rosewood making up the back and sides.
Known for its broad dynamic range, Spruce is extremely versatile and suits a wide range of playing styles, making it the perfect top wood for a Grand Auditorium guitar.
One of the most popular tonewoods of all time, Indian Rosewood is also exceptionally versatile and brings a deep resonance and expressiveness via the back and sides of the 414ce-R.
A Venetian cutaway to the Grand Auditorium body gives you easy access to the higher frets, adding to its playability.
Speaking of playability, the tropical Mahogany neck benefits from a super smooth satin finish and holds a West African Ebony fretboard, with both ensuring a great playing experience.
V-Class Bracing
Look within the Taylor 414ce-R and you’ll find Taylor’s ground-breaking V-Class bracing.
Drastically changing the way the guitar’s top vibrates while dramatically enhancing the sound, V-Class bracing is a great leap forward from traditional X-bracing.
With V-Class bracing installed, the soundboard is incredibly stiff yet flexible and so produces increased volume with enhanced sustain and improved intonation.
Expression System 2 Electronics
The Taylor 414ce-R is equipped with Expression System 2 electronics which utilises a breakthrough behind-the-saddle design which allows it to beautifully capture the dynamic properties of the guitar.
The pickup has three separately positioned sensors which have been individually calibrated in order to increase the capture of the guitar’s dynamic range.
Combined with Taylor’s custom-designed professional audio level preamp, you get amazing amplified tone and incredible response.
