Because of its compact design, the Taylor 322e Grand Concert is able to give you focused tone that’s ideal for fingerstyle playing, intricate performances and recording.
Crating the Taylor 322e 12-Fret
For the top wood of the Taylor 322e 12-fret guitar, Taylor have opted for Tropical Mahogany.
A very dense wood, Tropical Mahogany gives you focused sound that opens up over time with the more you play the guitar, becoming even richer.
Tasmania Blackwood has been used for the back and sides, adding volume, focused midrange and sparklingly rich top-end to your sound.
What’s more; this combination of woods has a beautiful look to match the incredible tone.
A Tropical Mahogany neck has been attached to the body via sturdy scarf joint and boasts a satin finish for speedy and comfortable playing.
Atop the neck is a West African Ebony fretboard for a beautifully smooth playing area.
Furthermore; because of its shorter 24.875” scale length and shifted bridge position, which brings the bridge closer to the centre of the lower bout, the 322e 12-Fret gives you an even more direct and manageable playing feel.
V-Class Bracing
Taylor’s V-Class bracing is a serious game changer in the world of acoustic guitars, marking a great leap forward from the more traditional X-bracing.
V-Class bracing allows the resonating stop to remain incredibly stiff while extremely flexible.
The benefit of this is that you get increased volume and sustain along with improved intonation as the top is more in tune with the vibrating strings.
Expression System 2 Electronics
While many electro-acoustic guitars can sound great unplugged, as soon as they’re plugged in and amplified, they lose all their rich acoustic character.
That’s why Taylor designed the Expression System 2 electronics. Featuring a breakthrough behind-the-saddle design which does away with the more common under-saddle positioning, ES2 electronics capture the rich characteristics of your guitar.
The preamp has Volume and Tone controls for easy dialling in of your preferred sound while the newly designed gain structure gives you increased output.
