The 200 series from Taylor is one of their most aesthetically diverse lineups, with guitars ranging from nylon to steel string, 6-string, 12-string, sitka spruce tops, hawaiian koa tops, sunburst finish and even an all-black model. The Taylor 214ce K is a prime example from this wonderful range of guitars. This Venetian cutaway , Grand Auditorium Electro-Acoustic features an attractive Layered Hawaiian Koa back and sides, a solid Sitka spruce top, onboard ES2 pickup system and a whole host of other appointments. As if that wasn't enough, it also comes complete with a lightweight hardshell gig-bag for easy transport!
Exquisite Tonewoods
The Taylor 214ce K is constructed with a Solid Sitka Spruce top and a layered Hawaiian Koa back and sides. Sitka Spruce is one of the most commonly used tonewoods for acoustic guitar tops, and helps generate a broad dynamic range, acommodating numerous play styles, whether you want to go with all-out aggressive strumming or light-fingerpicking.
Layered Koa actually incorporates three layers of wood: a poplar core with a Hawaiian Koa veneer on each side. Although the tonal properties may not be quite so complex as a solid Koa construction would be, this is an environmentally responsible method as it helps conserve tonewood resources, and offers you a durable instrument that looks and sounds great, at an attractive price. Combined with the solid spruce top and exquisite Taylor craftsmanship, the 214ce produces a rich harmonic voice with a balanced tonal response.

With Taylor's very own ES2 (Expression System 2) you get a revolutionary pickup design that's been engineered to deliver the latest in Taylor's ongoing innovation in acoustic guita amplification. Complete with a patented behind-the-saddle pickup with three uniquely positioned and individually calibrated pickup sensors, the ES2 captures a much more dynamic range of acoustic sound than any of its predecessors.
The ES2 is complimented by Taylor's custom-designed "professional audio"-grade preamp, which produces a highly-responsive and incredible amplified tone. The combination of the ES2 with this preamp ensures that whether you're on stage and playing through a PA or amp, or even recording in the studio, your guitar signal is recreated as faithfully as possible.
