Beech Build

This Sonor Vintage Snare drum is constructed from 9 plies of hand selected premium German beech wood in keeping with original drums from the 60s.

Characterised by it’s pronounced high and mids combined with robust punchy lows, beech delivers a sensitive and focused snare sound.

Capable of providing the cutting projection needed to pierce through the mix in live settings, this Sonor snare also offers the wonderful chunky depth of tone that's ideal for the studio.

Although the shell material is in keeping with the first incarnation of the Sonor Teardrop drums, the production process utilises a more modern approach.

Sonor use a Cross Laminated Tension Free (CLTF) process in the crafting of this snare drum to deliver the most stable shell possible.

The result is a snare drum that offers a rich range of tone filled with natural resonance and sustain, reminiscent of the vintage drums of the past.

Round Over Edges

Maintaining the vintage vibe, the beech shell of this Sonor snare is finished with rounded bearing edges.

Providing more contact between the head and the shell, a rounded bearing edge generates a beefier and slightly shorter sustain than the more modern 45 degree bearing edge.

Super50
