The sE Electronics V Beat microphone houses a specialised DMC7 X capsule created to provide a highly detailed, extremely natural sound character on snares and toms of any size.
The V Beat delivers the same high-quality performance as the sE Electronics V7 X instrument dynamic microphone but in a low profile, drum friendly design.
Specifically tuned for instrumental use, the V Beat works just as well on electronic guitar speaker cabs and brass instruments as it does on drums.
The DMC7 X capsule utilises the same technologies featured in the acclaimed V7 microphone, with both featuring an innovative specialised aluminium coil.
However, whereas the V7 has been specifically optimised for vocals, the V Beat capsule has been custom-tuned for instrumental use.
The use of the lighter aluminium coil as opposed to the industry standard copper serves to deliver an open, transient sound filled with deep, clear lows for a well-rounded overall tone.
The midrange response of the V Beat is extremely balanced to support the natural resonance of percussive instruments.
The result is a drum microphone that has been optimised to achieve the best snare and tom response possible.
From the clear-cutting highs and the fat low body of the snare to the piercing projection and the rounded low end of toms, the V Beat delivers the full range of tone.
The supercardiod capsule design of the dynamic V Beat microphone serves to ensure superb sound isolation and great rejection of unwanted noise.
Offering a strong off axis rejection to minimise bleed from nearby drums and cymbals, the supercardiod pattern helps to isolate the drums from other sound sources on stage.
Helping to achieve a clean and clear sound capture, the supercardiod response also helps to easily tailor the bottom end response by adjusting the proximity effect.
Simply adjust the distance of the mic from the drum head to adjust the level of bass boost.
The sE Electronics V Beat microphone features an integrated capsule suspension system that serves to protect the capsule from detrimental bumps and knocks that could impede the sound.
This internal suspension system efficiently decouples the capsule from mechanical vibration within the microphone, isolating it from shocks and jolts, which eliminates the need for external shock mounts.
One of the stand out features of the sE Electronics V Beat is its ultra compact design which allows easy positioning and adjustment allowing you to achieve the exact sound you require.
The microphone houses the XLR connector and the stand mount in a parallel design on the underside of the flexible swivel mount.
Not only does this reduce the overall footprint of the microphone, it also removes any cables from line-of sight, negates the need for right-angle adapters or special cables and keeps cables out of the way to prevent the possibility of interfering with the drummer’s performance.
The rock-solid swivel mount also ensures you are able to adjust the microphone into any angle you desire allowing you to achieve the precise sound you want by aiming the mic at any part of the drum head.
Preventing the need to compromise when it comes to achieving your ideal sound, the superb design of the V Beat ensures nothing impedes your perfect microphone placement.
The V Beat drum microphone features an all-metal housing that features no fragile plastic parts to ensure a robust, road-ready build.
Delivering high-quality durability, the die-cast zinc alloy design has been created to ensure this microphone withstands the stress of the stage.
In addition, the spring steel mesh grille of the V Beat is dent proof and corrosion free to ensure the ultimate in reliability.
Featuring a striking red colour, the internal windscreen of the sE V Beat not only offers an eye-catching look, it also serves to efficiently reduce unwanted popping, plosives and wind noise to ensure clean, clear sound capture.
However, if red isn’t your thing, sE Electronics have also included a black windscreen as standard to offers a more subtle appearance should you prefer.
Going for Gold
The XLR Connector of the V Beat microphone is gold plated to ensure a loss-free and reliable signal connection that you can rely on.
Ensuring uncompromised longevity, the gold-plated connector not only provides the best possible sound response, it also ensures brilliant durability under persistent use.
The V Beat snare and tom microphone comes complete with an included knurled nut which features a smaller diameter to avoid the obstruction of the XLR connector.
While many third-party mounting systems come with a knurled nut to secure the mic in position, it’s likely they will partially block the XLR connector on the V Beat because of its space efficient design.
That’s why sE Electronics have included a smaller knurled nut to make the microphone compatible with other popular drum mounting systems, such as the LP Mic Claw.
Although the V Beat can be used with other mounting devices, as shown by the included knurled nut, it was intended to be paired with the sE Electronics V Clamp.
The V Clamp helps to keep the overall microphone mounting size to a minimum to ensure a compact and flexible set up.
The V Clamp also adds another axis of vertical movement to the V Beat for even better fine-positioning of the microphone while maintaining a secure fastening of the mic to the drum rim.
Providing added positioning flexibility, secure placement and a compact footprint, the V clamp is the ideal companion to the V Beat microphone.
Delivering a super small design, brilliant positioning flexibility, and fine untuned instrument sound capture the sE Electronics V Beat is the ideal microphone for toms and snares on stage or in the studio.
The specially tuned capsule with aluminium voice coil ensures this dynamic microphone always delivers a well-rounded snare and tom tone.
From clear cutting projection to a full, low end response, the V Beat delivers a natural character to ensure a true replication of the captured sound.
The brilliantly compact design and flexible angle adjustability ensure you always achieve the exact sound you require without compromise and without impeding the performer.
