King Ov Hell Signature 5 String Bass
Forged for High Performance
The Mephisto King Ov Hell signature bass has a body constructed from Ash, neck-through construction sees the body joining with a Maple 3pc neck. The comfortable, thin ‘C’ shape neck is fortified with the use of carbon fibre reinforcement rods resulting a rock solid neck and bass build.
The fretboard is made of dark Ebon and it features Mother of Pearl inlays depicting Gothic Crosses with a beautiful Chaos Shield at the 12th fret. 22 narrow X-Jumbo frets are used to ensure high performance level playability.
Side dot markers on the neck are glow in the dark for enhanced visibility in stage conditions where the lighting can change at a moment’s notice.
An extended scale length of 35” allows for correct intonation and optimum vibration of the additional 5th string.
Extreme EMG Electronics
In the neck pickup positon, Schecter have installed an EMG 40HZ humbucker pickup. These pickups were designed for use with 5 string bass guitars and use ceramic bar magnets with steel resulting in a warm and smooth tone with big mid-range response.
In the bridge position is a powerful, high output EMG MM5HZ that gives out an absolute roar of power.To tame these beasts, 2-Band EMG Active EQ is installed. Using a combination of the 2-band EQ and the Blend control knob you can fuse your tones and meld them until you get the exact sound you require.
Awesome Hardware
At the top of the fretboard you’ll find that Schecter have installed a Graph Tech XL Black TUSQ nut. TUSQ is a marvellous material that is precision engineered under high heat and pressure to enhance the frequencies that remain in the guitar strings, resulting in fantastic sustain.
At the headstock you will find Grover tuners that offer fast and precise tuning that is extremely stable, no matter how hard and fast you play which is perfect for King’s fast and frantic style. For the bridge, Schecter have forged a custom bass bridge with a string through design.
If you are a fan of Gorgoroth, God Seed or Abbath, you will be very familiar with King ov Hell’s thunderous, virtuosic bass playing that is unlike any others, and this is the bass he uses to power his set.
