Featuring a super-sleek "C"-shaped neck, an ergonomically curved body, and a "VM" pickup configuration with active EQ, this gorgeous looking bass is the perfect combination of function and aesthetics.
Sandberg Pickups
Sitting in the Middle and Bridge positions on the California VM5 you'll find two of the key reasons for this instrument's incredible tonal power.
At the bridge there's a powerful "M"-style humbucker pickup, that delivers an incredible attack with plenty of meat. Whereas in the middle position is a familiar looking "V"-style split coil pickup, which produces a thunderous-yet-articulate sound, reminiscent of the famous P-Bass.
Each of these pickups houses larget pole pieces than usual, which accurately grab and process all string movements with no sound loss, ensuring what you amplify is exactly what you play.
Professional-Grade Eletronics
To get the best out of these pickups, Sandberg have included one of their powerful 2-band Active EQ systems. The controls on this preamp allow you to dial-in your perfect tonal mix from both pickups, but don't worry if you'd prefer a more vintage sound - by simply raising the Volume control knob the preamp is set to Passive rather than Active!
