Crash-able Heavy Ride
Adding a whole new palette of sound to the AAX line, the AAX Heavy Ride was added to the revamped AAX range at NAMM 2019.
The revitalised AAX series sees the delisting of less popular cymbals, the persistence of the successful Omni, Freq, X-Plosion and Aero models and the introduction of some entirely new sounds.
All the new additions feature a completely new hammering process which serves to expand the frequency range of the cymbals to deliver brighter highs and more complex lows.

The Sabian AAX Heavy Ride features a much larger bell than typically found on rides of this size.
The larger, raw bell enables this heavy ride to be extremely crash-able; surprisingly so considering its size and weight.

New Style Hammering
Sabian consistently strive to achieve new innovative sounds and the new AAX cymbals are no different.
Working with the latest manufacturing technology, Sabian have used a whole new hammering process in the creation of their new AAX series.
The new hammering process utilises a larger, rounder peen which creates a much more visibly hammered appearance on the cymbal surface.
Aside from the impact this new process has on the aesthetics of the cymbal, it also makes the ride respond in a much thinner way than traditional heavy rides, which serves to aid crash ability.
This new hammering style also widens the band of frequency that the cymbal produces by injecting more highs into its sound, as well as adding a hint of complexity to the lows.
The result is a versatile ride cymbal that provides great crash response, increased brighter highs and slightly darker, more complex lows.
