The Sabian AAX 16” Thin Crash Cymbal utilises a smaller bell and new hammering style to deliver faster attack, brighter highs and darker lows.

AAX Thin Crash

First introduced in 1993, the AAX cymbal range quickly became a popular choice for modern drummers looking to push their creative sound.

Now, over 25 years later the way drummers play, record and listen to music has changed. Drummer’s demands are different, so the range has been adapted to meet those needs.

That’s why NAMM 2019 saw the unveiling of a new and evolved AAX line to ensure it stays modern and relevant.

Introducing thin and medium crashes to the range plus thin, medium and heavy rides, the new AAX range has been streamlined to deliver a less complicated, more focussed choice of sounds.

Utilising a new hammering style, these new additions deliver perfect highs, a touch more darkness and more complexity of tone.

The Sabian AAX 16" Thin Crash is also available in a brilliant finish.

Sabian 21606XC AAX 16” Thin Crash Cymbal Key Features:

  • Raw Bell Delivers Faster Response
  • New Style of AAX Hammering
  • Thinner Sound with Darker Tone
  • Brighter Highs, More Complex Lows
  • Wide Band of Frequency

Faster, Thinner, Darker

The new AAX 16” Thin Crash combines a small, raw bell and a new pronounced hammering process to deliver a crash cymbal with a faster attack, a thinner sound and a darker tone.

The small raw bell works to create a crash cymbal with a super-fast response to deliver quick bursts of instant attacking tone.

Ideal for adding flashes of impact to your playing, the crash also utilises a new hammering process that works to create a thinner sound and an expanded frequency range.

Providing more highs combined with a slightly darker low-end wash, this crash delivers a full range of tone to produce a versatile palette of sound.

The result is a crash that bursts into action quickly to deliver a smoother more refined high end combined with dark tonal complexity.

New Style Hammering

The whole of the new AAX range has been redesigned to incorporate a completely new hammering style.

Using a larger, rounder peen, this new hammering process delivers a more pronounced, more visible hammered look to the surface of the cymbal which serves to produce a silky, shimmering aesthetic.

In addition to providing a smooth appearance, the hammering also serves to deliver an increased frequency response filled with bright impact and full tonal depth.

Summary

Offering drummers a unique sound option to help them find their own individual tone, the new AAX cymbals feature new innovative techniques to create a relevant modern sound.

The raw bell ensures a fast attack to deliver bright bursts of accenting tone, while the new hammering style provides an extended frequency response.

Delivering perfect highs, slightly more lows and added complexity of tone, this 16” crash provides instant impact that blends into a lusciously full depth of tone.
