The Rode M3 features a 10dB and 20dB level attenuator which you can select from within the battery compartment. This is great when you're recording louder sources such as guitar amps or drums.
A selectable high-pass filter can also be found on the Rode M3 condenser mic which filters sound at 80z, reducing unwanted low frequency sounds and handling noise.
