Premium-Grade Construction
Featuring a semi-hollow body, crafted from the classic tonewood combination of a Mahogany back with a Flamed Maple top piece, this guitar comes alive with a bright, resonant sound, even when unplugged.
Attached to the body is a solid Mahogany neckcarved with the standard PRS Pattern profile shape which offers a comfortable playing experience, wherever your fretting hand is.
Sitting atop the neck is is a sleek Rosewood fingerboard, with 22 frets and classic PRS Bird fret markers, offering a combination of classy aesthetics and optimal playability.
Unrivalled Tonal Versatility
A rarity with PRS guitars, the awesome Special Semi Hollow comes equipped with three stunning pickups, combining two medium-output 58/15 humbuckers with a Narrowfield pickup in the middle position.
With the 58/15's, you get a classic, late 50's Humbucker-style sound, which is perfect for both clean and overdriven tones. Each of these pickups can also be tapped into a Single Coil sound without losing any dynamics, thanks to the two Mini Toggles.
Complimenting these two pickups is a middle position Narrowfield - a slimline humbucker which produces the bite and clarity of a single-coil pickup but without the hum, and is perfect for attaining those stand-out out-of-phase tones.
Top Notch Hardware
In addition to all of that, and as a finishing touch to have the guitar deliver in terms of stability and reliability, the PRS Special Semi-Hollow has been equipped with some of the best hardware available.
For the tuning machines you get a set of a PRS Phase III Locking tuners, which offer increased tuning stability and super-fast string changes.
At the opposite end of the guitar there's a PRS Gen III Tremolo bridge, which offers not only a smooth action, but delivers the maximum amount of vibrational transference from the strings to the guitar's body, resulting in increased sustain and incredible natural tones.
